Laura Ramos

Laura Ramos was named the Vice President of Innovation and Design in March 2011. She leads and champions innovation efforts across Gannett using humancentered design and disruptive innovation principles. She continuously seeks to better understand how to infuse innovation in an organization to promote creativity and encourage new ways of working. Since January 2008, Laura served as the Director of Innovation Development where she initiated and incubated new product ideas within Gannett. As part of this effort, Laura led project teams through human-centered innovation projects to uncover consumer insights and translate them into possible media offerings. She also established and nourished external networks through which Gannett build strategic alliances or investments. Prior to Gannett, she served as the director of Advertising Administration for USAToday.com where she designed, developed, and implemented a sales operations and analytics infrastructure. A significant aspect of Laura’s work was to develop an inventory management methodology to improve advertising inventory utilization. Before joining USAToday.com in 2002, Laura worked for Arthur AndersenBusiness Consulting providing consulting services to media and telecommunications clients. Laura is a graduate of the University of Virginia where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. She is pursuing an MBA in Design Strategy from the California College of the Arts.
